a thought..

There is something in the eyes of children that I admire so much. Not sure what it is, maybe that innocent and pure twinkle, or knowing that they long for love and guidance so much. I love babysitting because I get the opportunity to visit and play with little ones! They pull on my heart strings when they don't even know it - I can't imagine the amount of love I will have for my own (when we're blessed with them). I can't wait to experience that connection between Mama & baby.

Cheers to tantrums, snotty noses, baby snuggles and bedtime stories.

JOY

Yesterday we had a wonderful time at service, our pastor talked all about the difference between happiness and joy. He explained that true joy stems from the blessings of Jesus, joy is feeling at peace, it is not circumstantial. However, happiness on the otherhand is circumstantial. Unlike joy, happiness evolves from happenings, it's not a permanent feeling.
We started a new study for Christmas called "Carols" the next four weeks we will spend analyzing four different Christmas Carols, and finding the true meaning that lies beneath the yearly Christmas songs. Prepare to be blessed and joyous about the birth of our Christ and savior being born!
Along with a new study we had exciting news in service today, a Christmas tree lighting ceremony with a special guest appearance by the Christian band, ELISHAH. Wonderful band, wonderful worship and wonderful evening all together. I'll include some photos below.
Merry Christmas,
Addy

1st Anniversary

WE MADE IT
"First year of marriage is the hardest" NOT!

First of all we'd like to begin by saying thank you for your words of encouragement from the very beginning. Thank you for all of your prayers, phone calls and text messages. They continue to lift us up and push us to be all that we can as one, on a daily basis.

We cannot thank you enough. Those of you that decorated and cooked your hearts out, or those of you that did us the favor of being in the audience on the day we wed. Your presence in our life is such a blessing, and always will be.

As all of you know two weeks after we married we moved cross-country to Beaufort, South Carolina. We had no idea what we were in for. Never having lived on our own... let alone in our own HOUSE?! Well we have done an amazing job making our house a home this year. To those of you who purchased gifts such as dishes, cups, towels, or Tupperware . you are heavenly! But who'da guessed we'd end up with 50 lids and 10 containers.. I shall blame the dishwasher.

We've both grown tremendously this year, together and on our own. We have learned what it means to love with all of your heart, to miss someone so bad it makes you sick,  and we've especially learned that "distance makes the heart grow fonder" of friends, and family.

The first lesson we've learned as a married couple: HOW TO SURVIVE SOUTHERN HEAT. We managed to make it through the summer with no heatstroke's, or hospital visits. We've indulged ourselves  into the South Carolina "nature" and discovered that armadillos are nearly blind, even a foot long shark is viscous, and last but not least 1 puffer-fish holds the potency to kill 30 adults.

See, it's already beyond life changing! Chris was in awe to learn that the State of South Carolina does not use a "tag" system for does. They have an unlimited number for bucks and they also have "either sex" days throughout the hunting season.

Yes, Gentleman you are welcome anytime, and we do have a spare room. As long as you don't mind sharing the bed with a forty pound black lab!

We look forward to returning home and reuniting with everyone we've missed so much this year. Keep in touch and remember we're still here, even though we're an 8 hour plane trip away.

Lots of love & Southern Sprinkles,

Chris & Addy

My dearest Lilly

Happy 6 months to my baby girl. Even after all of the chewed up chargers, lamps, underwear, shirts, sheets, red bull cans, table legs, leashes.... (the list goes on) We love you so much. Thank you for adding so much joy & frustration to our lives :)

escuchar

So, last week I decided to start my journal again. When Chris was away at boot camp i wrote an entry everyday. Sometimes I even wrote multiple. I love being able to document all of life's journies, and know that I can always go back and read them. Whether it be two days later, two weeks or even two years. Plus it's fun because Chris always wants to read them, and I refuse! I even encourage him to start his own.

I think the reason for wanting to start again is because it gives me such peace of mind, I love taking 10-20 minutes a day to reflect on what's going on in our life. I think it's important to take time, stop, and just listen to your heart beat, listen to water run, or  just focus on breathing. People never take the time to just STOP! We are always going going going. So this is my change-up for this month. I'm going to take more time to relax and reflect. You should too.
We miss out on so much because we are always looking at the big picture. Simplify.
Oh! and on another note, I have an interview tomorrow at Beaufort Podiatry! Hopefully they will like what I have to say, it would be a wonderful start in the medical field.

time machine

Lately I've been feeling like days zoom by right before my eyes without me realizing it. Does this happen to anyone else? I fall asleep on Sunday night, and wake up and it's ALREADY Thursday!! I should be taking advantage of all the spare time I have each week. I have plenty of time to read, study, pray, call, write, EXERCISE, and find even more ways to show Chris how much I love him.

Update: I have been working part time at GNC, I managed to close the store one night last week and mess EVERYTHING up! (But it was all fixable). My beautiful sister and her partner, Stefani came to visit us from Montana for FIVE DAYS!! We had a blast, Chris had to work most everyday that they were here, but we planned around it. We ventured to the beautiful Hilton Head Beach, Parris Island, Sake House, Chocolate Tree, the Waterfront Park, took TONS of photos. I had such a blast, we even did some shopping for my upcoming birthday. Woohoo!!

I'm so thankful they had the time and opportunity to fly out and see us. Thank you sister!!
I didn't expect for it to be so difficult to say goodbye though. I'm always bad with goodbyes but this time it was especially hard. I think due to the fact that We are SO FAR from home. So we know it'll be a while before we are able to see family again! Anyway, lots of rest to catch up on.
To all of my family and friends, Good night!

Dierks Bentley. USMC.

Had an amazing time tonight at the Dierks Bentley concert on the Air station! He was awesome, gave shout-outs to all of the Marines, and families supporting loved ones away on deployment, and veterans from past deployments! Overall awesome time with friends, made new friends too!

Thank you Christopher Paul, and all service members for fighting for this country and allowing myself, and every other family to see and experience all of these wonderful things! If it wasn't for you we would never be here!
